Biography of My Single Release Project

Creating and releasing my first music single has been one of the most exciting and challenging projects I’ve ever worked on.

The process began with coming up with a strong concept for the song. I wanted to write something that felt authentic and emotionally engaging, so I spent time exploring different themes and figuring out what I really wanted to say.  From there, I started writing lyrics—drafting lines, reworking them, and shaping them until they told the story I envisioned.   At the same time, I started thinking about the overall vibe of the track.  I had a clear picture in my head of how I wanted it to sound: something heartfelt and grounded, built around acoustic elements.

Once the lyrics and basic melody were taking shape, I reached out to a few fellow musicians to help bring the music to life. We worked together to develop the instrumental side of the song, layering acoustic guitar, piano, and drums. Each part added its own feel—guitar for the warmth, piano for depth and emotion, and drums to give it energy and movement.  It was a really collaborative process, and hearing the song evolve through these sessions was incredibly rewarding.

With the composition ready, we headed into the studio to professionally record the track. This part of the project felt like the most intense—but also the most exciting. We focused on capturing clean,  takes and making sure every element of the recording reflected the mood we were going for.

Behind the scenes, I was managing the entire project using tools like Gantt charts, timelines, diary entries, and detailed planning documents. These helped me stay organized from writing and rehearsals to recording sessions and deadlines. Having a clear plan made it much easier to stay focused and keep momentum going throughout the whole process.

Once the track was mixed and mastered, I moved into the release phase. I built social media pages from scratch to promote the single, creating an online presence and putting together a rollout strategy to build excitement around the release.

All of this was made possible thanks to the skills and knowledge I gained during my time at Riverside Music College. From songwriting techniques to production, project management, and marketing, the course gave me the tools to take an idea from concept to completion.

This project has been a huge learning experience and an important step in my journey as an artist. It’s shown me what’s possible when creativity, planning, and collaboration all come together.
